Hands-on MES Training for Emergency Preparedness

Our purpose-built MES training facility provides crew members with the opportunity to train hands-on with fully operational Marine Evacuation Systems.

With two different VIKING systems, the VIKING Evacuation Dual Chute (VEDC) and VIKING Evacuation Dual Slide (VEDS), the crew can practice the procedures they may one day need to perform in a real emergency.

Our MES training focuses on real operational competence:
• Operating and deploying the evacuation system
• Assisting passengers during evacuation
• Practicing realistic evacuation procedures
• Building confidence through hands-on experience
• Preparing both designated MES crew members and general crew

Traditionally, practical MES deployment experience may be limited to selected crew members during onboard recertification. At our facility, we can make this valuable training available to a much larger part of the crew.

Knowing the procedures is important. Practicing them is what builds confidence.

Located just five minutes from Port Canaveral, our state-of-the-art training center provides an ideal setting for cruise operators looking to strengthen onboard emergency preparedness.

A big thank you to VIKING Life-Saving Equipment for the collaboration and for helping us bring practical MES training to a new level in the U.S.A.
