Fast Rescue Craft Simulator
Train the FRC (Fast Rescue Craft) crew safely and effectively with our custom VR simulator – no risk of injury to personnel or damage to equipment.
At ASK, we are committed to making digital training engaging, relevant, and effective. Technological advancements create new opportunities for learning and interaction, and VR simulators enable a more practical and interactive approach. We strongly believe that this type of training enhances individual competence.
Through tailored simulations, participants can practice using relevant equipment and handle situations that reflect their real working environment. This makes it possible to carry out comprehensive and realistic training scenarios without risk to personnel or equipment, while enhancing learning outcomes. VR therefore offers advantages that can be difficult to achieve through traditional training methods.
Modules
The FRC simulator consists of three different modules:
- Familiarization – get to know the Fast Rescue Craft and davit system, learn how to use the VR equipment, and gain an understanding of how the simulator is structured.
- Singleplayer – train individually on procedures and tasks related to the role within the FRC crew.
- Multiplayer – team training for up to three participants, focusing on FRC crew roles. The module provides training in relevant procedures and exercises that the crew is required to perform.
Train in accordance with STCW
Train Fast Rescue Craft crews in accordance with STCW across all required operations. In teams of three, participants can communicate with each other and practice giving orders, receiving instructions, and executing tasks.
- Launching and recovery
- Maneuvering and use
- Navigation
- Communication
Instructor Station and Deployment Options
The simulator includes an instructor station that makes it possible to monitor participants’ actions and performance, as well as the FRC’s movements at sea. This provides a solid basis for thorough debriefing of both individual performance and the team’s overall efforts. The simulator also allows the instructor to easily adjust weather conditions such as rain, fog, wind, and waves to simulate different scenarios.
The simulator can be used both online, allowing participants to connect from different geographical locations, and offline. In offline mode, the simulator does not require Wi-Fi and can, for example, be deployed onboard a vessel or at a chosen facility. The simulator is motion-proof and specifically designed for maritime environments, ensuring stable and reliable performance under all conditions.
The FRC simulator can be adapted to different boat types and davit systems according to customer requirements.

Our Fast Rescue Craft simulator is certified by DNV in accordance with Compliance for Rescue Boat Operation Simulator.
